The Person Behind the Blog

Welcome to Thrill of the Page, where there is a thrill at every turn! My name is Erin, I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where I currently live. I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. As a child, my mom and I would venture to the library multiple times a week to feed my reading habits. This continued throughout grade school, high school, and college, but took a backseat during law school (I had a lot of other things to read, none of which were for pleasure). I became a licensed attorney in 2010 after graduating law school and passing the bar exam. Finally, I had time to read for fun! It didn’t take long to rediscover my love of reading. As soon as I started back up, I couldn’t stop!

By day, I work in the oil and gas industry for an amazing company and with an incredible team. By night, I cozy up in my reading chair with a page-turning thriller! While I usually gravitate toward thrillers, I read all genres (historical fiction, nonfiction, etc.). I supplement my reading by listening to audiobooks. They are a constant companion during my commute, while I cook dinner, and get ready each morning.

Through the years I have consistently been asked for book recommendations, my opinion on various books, and when authors are publishing their next book. I found that I had repeat “customers” and was asked a lot of the same questions. I began toying with the idea of starting a blog to provide answers to these questions and allow me to get my thoughts down on paper so to speak. However, for many different reasons I just never committed. Well, 2020 has changed all of that. This has been quite a year and since a majority of it has been spent in quarantine due to Covid-19, I finally have NO EXCUSES!

My hope for this blog is to share reviews of books I read, as well as on my newly created bookstagram. Additionally, I would like to update everyone on my current read and audiobook. Lastly, I hope to provide updates on new book releases, author news, and maybe even do a giveaway or two.

I want to thank everyone for their support and urging me out of my comfort zone. I am so excited to begin this journey and share it with all of you!
